Fraunhofer HHI brings its expertise in R&D on Multimedia services and applications, both in design and implementation. In particular Fraunhofer HHI has more than 10 years of expertise in the areas of video compression, image processing, image and video database applications and human factors aspects. Fraunhofer HHI has been prime contributor to ISO/MPEG, for which, in particular, work on MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and MPEG-7 are in the focus of the project. Within the project, Fraunhofer HHI are working on the design and implementation of video retrieval and data embedding techniques, as well as contributing to human factors aspects. Fraunhofer HHI are making an MPEG-4 encoder/decoder available to the project.
